Productive Rest
Listen up, overachievers!
It’s high time to start practicing “productive rest”. We know, we know, it’s so hard to resist the urge to constantly be moving and productive in order to feel like we’re doing “enough” - often to the point of burn out.
Let’s practice this concept of “productive rest” - what’s an activity that makes you feel fulfilled, proud, and like you’re working toward a goal or outcome while not expending too much energy? How about reading, doing a puzzle, or checking out new recipes?
The goal of productive rest is to disengage that nagging voice saying you need to constantly be “on” while also allowing yourself to rest and recharge. Are there any activities that do not expend a lot of physical or emotional energy, but ultimately result in some kind of concluded outcome? Try to sprinkle these into your weekly routine!
