Slow & Steady or Quick Fix?

practices to slow down and focus

The discomfort of the unknown sometimes propels us into a frenzied state of trying to “fix”, find a solution, or get to the finish line. Remember that there is a time and place for both slow and fast approaches to the task or feeling at hand - we often find a healthy medium of both does the trick! 🤓

Practices to Slow Down:

(check out our Practical Resources page to learn more)

- 4-7-8 counted breathing

- Mindfulness practices uses your 5 senses

- Slow and intentional movement (e.g. yoga or stretching)

- Scheduling self-care time (even pausing for a few minutes to water the plants!)

- Use W.I.S.E. Mind skills

Practices to Tune In & Focus:

- Create a daily to-do list and reschedule tasks that are lower priority if needed

- Hydrate!

- White Noise (or no noise at all)

- Mapping out step-by-step plans for more complex and overwhelming concerns

- Forgive yourself for minor mistakes (C’mon, you’re human)

Try these out and let us know how you feel in different slow- and fast-paced conundrums!
