Offering a Range of Unique Tween Therapy Resources

Being a “tween” and an emerging teenager can leave you feeling stuck in the middle and unsure where your place is. Is your tween struggling to connect with peers or disengaging from activities they’ve previously loved? They are not alone! Between the ages of 11 and 14, there’s so much opportunity for growth, uncertainty, discovery, and feelings of loneliness. Talk about a crash course in human emotional development! Could tween therapy be helpful for you or your child?

Non-Judgmental & Customizable Tween Therapy

We find that one of the most helpful things for tweens is a safe, open, and supportive environment. Our tween therapy cultivates a space that allows for non-judgmental support for common issues tweens are facing including (but not limited to):

  • Gender Identity

  • Healthy Relationships

  • Executive Functioning

  • Preparing for High School

  • Anxiety

  • Depression

  • Self-Esteem

  • & More!

Tween Therapy & Their Support System

Parents may ask themselves - what role do I play in tween therapy? The shape of your child’s tween therapy can shift as it best suits them. For example, your child may initially feel nervous to start tween therapy and may benefit from parent support in the first few sessions. Alternatively, some tweens want to take the wheel for their tween therapy. We encourage whichever level of communication best fits your child’s and your family’s needs.

Relatable Therapists for Tweens

Ambler Counseling Center’s team members who provide tween therapy are young and relatable, while also having significant experience in providing mental health counseling. Our goal is to support the building of long-lasting therapeutic relationships that your child can turn to through the ebbs and flows of life.

Individual Tween Therapy & Tween Support Groups

Tween therapy options that we offer include both individual and group support sessions. Some tweens benefit from individual tween therapy while others may benefit from the addition of our Tween Support Group. Whichever path feels like the best next step for your child in tween therapy, we’ve got your back. Our empathetic and understanding team is happy to answer any questions you may have and help guide you to the best next step. Give us a call today to learn more!
