Our Process
From the moment you hear about us to the moment you are linked up with your best fit counselor, Ambler Counseling Center strives to provide 5-star customer and client care. Your initial outreach to us might be via telephone, website form submission, e-mail, or even DM through one of our social media platforms.
Free Consultation Call
Whatever the case might be, know that a member of our team will follow up for a free consultation call to gather some more information about what’s been coming up for you (or your loved one). Your initial contact might be all that’s needed to receive referral resources (if we are not the appropriate fit for your needs) or outreach from your intake counselor. You may also benefit from a follow-up from a member of supervisory team to get some more information and tailor specialized recommendations for initial steps to meet your needs.
Outreach from Your Counselor
Once your free consultation is completed with our office staff and/or a member of our supervisory team, you can expect to hear from your intake counselor within 24 hours – if we are the appropriate fit for your needs. We strive to avoid long waiting periods for prospective clients. You will receive an invitation to our client portal and we ask that you complete *all documents* prior to your scheduled intake session. This includes written permission to speak to at least one emergency contact person.
Intake Session & Recommendations
In your intake session, you can expect that your intake clinician will have reviewed all information you submitted to us through our secure client portal. The goal of this intake assessment is to get a deeper understanding of where you’ve been, where you are, and where you want to go next. Sometimes this might result in specialized recommendations under our care at Ambler Counseling Center – other times, we want to ensure that you are equipped with the tools and resources you need to be linked with the right fit for your care. The intake clinician will collaborate with the supervisory team to put together recommendations for you and will get back to you with a summary of next steps.
Some specialized areas of need that we would support a specialized referral for include: co-occurring disorders or primary substance misuse concerns, psychotic features or schizophrenia spectrum disorders, addictive behaviors such as sexual compulsions, or concerns with aggressive behavior or violence. We do not specialize in any kind of court involvement or legal processes. Our #1 goal is to support linking you with a provider who has the education and experience to support your specific needs!
For referring providers: We are delighted that you’ve thought of us for a referral, and welcome you to partner with us in providing your client the care they deserve! We ask that you and our team maintain a collaborative approach to meeting your clients’ needs on a consistent basis, and will ask your client to provide written consent to communicate with you about their care.
We pride ourselves on being authentic throughout the therapeutic process
*Important Info – New Clients*
Before we begin the journey, we want to make sure you, as a prospective new client, have all of the bits and pieces you might need to fully understand how things work and how we can best support you. Please take a look at the information below and let us know if you have any questions!
-
In the event that your child is seeking services with us and there is any kind of custody agreement (pending, active, or otherwise), Ambler Counseling Center requires written consent from both parents to provide services.
-
As with other practices, all of Ambler Counseling Center’s practitioners and staff are mandated reporters of concerns of child abuse or neglect. We strive to be transparent about this legal and ethical obligation.
-
Should non-payment take place, we have the right to terminate services until payment is received.
-
All intake documents sent to the client via our secure client portal MUST be completed prior to scheduled intake session. Practitioners will need to cancel or reschedule your appointment if these forms are not completed prior to your scheduled appointment.
-
Your intake session’s purpose is to formulate recommendations for what will be the best fit for you. Because you deserve to receive customized care, if Ambler Counseling Center is not the right fit for your needs, we may support referrals to other resources based on intake recommendations in order to ensure your appropriate care.
-
If your goal is to seek reimbursement from insurance, we recommend checking with your insurance provider prior to beginning services. Ambler Counseling does not accept insurance and is not on any insurance panels. Working with one of our licensed clinicians may be most supportive to your goal of reimbursement – however, we strongly encourage that you check in with your insurance provider before proceeding.
-
As rules and regulations ebb and flow, Ambler Counseling Center wants prospective clients to be aware and mindful of potential disruptions to care should clients relocate, go on vacation out of state, or attend college outside of Pennsylvania.
