IEP/Psychoeducational Evaluations in Ambler, Doylestown & Wayne, PA
IEP and Psychoeducation evaluations are often sought after following an extended period of difficulty in the school environment. Perhaps you feel that your child’s needs are not being met in the school environment, or you know that your child is able to succeed if offered the right supports. Specific Learning Disorder, or SLD, may be a specific area of need uncovered through evaluation, which can cause difficulty in learning and using academic skills in school - especially in the areas of reading, writing, and math.
Seeking out an assessment may be beneficial if you notice your child experiencing any number of difficulties in the academic world. Is your child making mistakes while reading, having trouble reading, or reading slowly and with significant effort? Is your child experiencing challenges with understanding the meaning of words, spelling and/or writing, or understanding numbers and mathematical calculations? While these challenges are impactful alone, they can also lead to increased frustration and impacts on self-esteem which can perpetuate a cycle of hopelessness and helplessness.
Your provider will work with your child, you, and teachers to gather information regarding current behaviors and utilize several assessment batteries designed to assess for areas of need including: cognitive abilities, academic functioning and skill development, and memory.
If you think that your child may be experiencing academic or learning difficulties, we encourage you to reach out to our team to schedule an initial consult and determine if this assessment is the best fit for you.
