Total Eclipse!

Every now and then I think all of us get a little bit lonely! If this most recent Earthly spectacle (the solar eclipse on 4/8/24) show me anything, it's that the least expected things can sometimes draw us all together.

This day and age, it's a major convenience where you can do just about anything virtually, virtual schooling, work from home, virtual medical appointments, virtual workout classes! This has made necessities a whole lot more accessible and convenient, but for some increases isolation and feelings of loneliness. Developing true authentic connections with folks can be scary and sometimes feel impossible… but sharing vulnerabilities, talking about how you really are to trusted friends, family, co-workers and other supports will help you build authentic, true connections with those around you which can decrease the sense of loneliness. If you are one of the folks that do work or go to school virtually/from home and are struggling to form connections with others, here are some tips for you! Try to surround yourself around others that have similar interests. Maybe it is the new workout class you have been wanting to try, going to see a band you like that is in town, grabbing a coffee at your favorite shop vs doordash, taking a walk in your favorite park! You are more likely to find folks you vibe with in environments you already find joy in. For me, I always end up sparking up a conversation with someone in a bookstore over the latest new reads, developing friendships over books! The possibilities are endless. If you are struggling to do these things, we would love to see you.. virtual or not!
